Urea
- Urea is metabolic waste from human urine that is formed in the liver from ammonia caused by the removal of amino acids.
- It is used in vaccine manufacturing to help stabilize vaccines the must be refrigerated when they cannot be transported to areas and be guaranteed to stay frozen.
- Urea is found in ProQuad vaccine in the refrigerator version, the Varicella vaccine in the refrigerator version and also the Dengue Fever vaccine.
